Deft writing, fantastic storyline and charged subject matter makes for a great read - with one exception: the "most men are rapists" theme gets old real fast. It is about four (or three? maybe five?) women and their respective lives: how they live it, how they perceive themselves within their world and how they cope, before going into a truly science-fiction scenario made up of wars, assassins and plans for peace. The story is convoluted, almost to the point of confusion but despite that (or because of it) it kept me riveted till the end.

The novel did seem to lose steam with the last fifty pages but I think it is because the first 75% of the book was pure genius, the ending was not disappointing in itself it was just of lesser brilliance.
