This is a great story. It is rip-roaring from the get go. I was surprised at how fast this book reads. The characters are about as fun as fictional folks can be and still be realistic.

The story takes place in New York as two neigborhood friends grow-up to start there own comic book company, at the dawn of the "golden age". There's even a few twists that develop along the way that I just never saw coming.

This is one prize that I think the Pulitzer folks got right. Not every award winner has to be serious and stuffy. The characters, sub-stories and layers here are wonderdful.
