I was a little disappointed in this. The first half was great, but the overall plot revolves around an amazingly convoluted and semi-boring psychological whodunnit, and by the end I just didn't care. I did appreciate the author's attempt to write a more "ordinary" heroine (i.e. one without superpowers or magic or famed beauty, like both Katsa and Fire), but I'm not sure it worked. I had a really hard time connecting with Bitterblue as a character. All in all, an okay end to the trilogy, I guess, but given how much I adored the first two books I was hoping for something better. Bonus points for bringing up all the class issues...

Emily I just started it! My luck with the library- Insurgent, Bitterblue and City of Lost Souls all came on hold for me the same week. I'm drowning in YA over here.

Heidi I am like 35th in line for both Insurgent & City of Lost Souls, boo. Enjoy!

Emily That's why I'm trying to power through! If I return without finishing and get on the list again it will be 6 months before I see them again.

Heidi How much do you get fined for keeping them past due? Ours is 15 cents a day, I think, which is absurd - they could charge so much more (the adults, at least)!!!

Emily Mine is 25 cents a day!
