Well, I am a D&D fan but clearly am not a D&D fiction fan. At least not the system-based fiction where you quite literally feel like the thematics of the story are dictated by how invisibility works, according to the player's handbook, instead of perhaps how it needed to work for the story...I don't know. When I read a story, I don't want to feel like I am reading lines in a handbook, describing how mechanics works for combat or spells. It would be like gaming with some friends for a session and then recounting the story you took part in and including all of the stat mechanics as well. So...not for me.

Petrina Wow. That may be the first fairly negative review of yours I've read.

Jamie I pepper pretty fairly, I think. If I don't like a book, I don't like forcing myself to power through. I just set it aside and move on. Typically, I continue, as with this one, when I find enough interesting or thought-provoking elements.
