I couldn't have asked for a better ending everything happened the way I was hoping for them to happen. I was so happy that I couldn't even find words that would describe how I felt. This book really took my breath away and that is rare cause not so many books make you feel that way. There were some heartbreaking scenes in this book I was crying in the end. The characters became more developed especially Clary she is more confident in this book. All the mysteries got solved and there were no loose ends. The writer really worked magic when she wrote this book she just makes you imagine everything every scene every character I don't think that there was one scene in the entire book that didn't appear in front of me it was like watching a movie but better. All the events that had happened from the first book to the third were connected and as they happened they were drawing a circle and by the end of the book the circle got completed. I really thought that this was the end and there wasn't going to be any more books cause really this was the perfect ending to a perfect story.

The story starts with Clary. She is on a mission to save her mother with help from Madeline, her mother's old friend the only person who knows how to make her mother wake up from her coma. She tells Clary that there is a warlock that can reverse the spell but he is in Idris and the only way to get him to do it is if she goes to him.

Alicante is the home of the Shadow-hunters also known as the City of Glass. The city got the name from the beautiful three glass towers that protect it from any harm. The only way to get to Idris is through a portal and Magnus, the warlock, has arranged one. Clary is planning to go through the portal with Jace and the Lightwoods. The only problem is that Jace doesn’t want Clary to go so he lies to her about when they where leaving. He thinks it is too dangerous for Clary.

After Clary gets left behind she finds her way to Alicante by using her ability to create runes and makes a portal for herself but Clary doesn’t know that using a portal and entering the city without permission is against the law so she cant let anyone see her.

Once in the City Clary is caught in the middle of the largest battle the Shadowhunters have ever had to face against Valentine. They form an alliance with the down-loaders cause without them they have no chance in fighting the Demons Valentine has unleashed on them.

The mystery about Jace and Clary is revealed and they aren't siblings thank god cause was kind of wondering what kind of a sick story is this. We find out that Jace's mother kills herself in the uprising when her husband got killed. She was eight months pregnant and Valentine finds her body he saves the baby so that he would raise him to be his own child hoping he wouldn't turn out like his 1st boy who is a monster. This boy doesn't grow up to be what Valentine wants, he is too good so he dumps him after ten years to be raised by the Lightwoods.

In the end Clary saves the day and ends up with Jace. What more do you want to know more that is the perfect ending. A lot of other important stuff happened but you will have to read the book to find out.
