Read from July 25 to 29, 2014 — I own a copy

I can't remember how many times I have now read this book. When I want to read the series again, I always start at the very beginning and sometimes forget to finish the other books.
It was unfortunate that I saw the movie before reading the book but the movie did provide me with the imagery for the characters & Hogwarts.

My favourite line is actually the opening line, it sets the tone for how the reader should feel about Mr & Mrs Dursley.

On his eleventh birthday, Harry Potter finds out he is a wizard & has been accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry. Growing up orphaned, under the care of his maternal aunt & uncle, he is excited to learn he is a part of a magical community. After making friends, enemies & a spot on the house quidditch team; Harry feels it is his duty to protect the Philosophers Stone from whomever is trying to steal it.
