it was amazing
bookshelves: contemporary-realistic-fiction

** spoiler alert ** When the students teacher Miss Nelson is out, the students behavior is terrible for the substitute teacher. Until Miss Viola Swamp arrives! Students can relate very well to this book and how classmates might act for a substitute teacher. I love the inferences the students have to make in order to know that Miss Nelson is dressing up as Miss Viola Swamp. I love seeing the light bulbs go off when the students realize they are the same person!

Ashley I read this book to my students at the beginning of the year! I change Miss Nelson's name to Miss Ahlering! :) I tell them that this year they could have Miss Ahlering or Miss Viola Swamp depending on their behavior!
