In high school I decided to read this book and it fast became the sine qua non of the development of my faith. I returned to it at least two other times to drink deeply from this well of scholarship about the life of Jesus Christ. Written in a secluded upper room in the Salt Lake City Temple and first published in the early 1920s, this book draws primarily from ancient scriptures as well as from the historian Josephus and sparingly from other more contemporary Christian scholars including Adam Clark and J.R. Dummelow. It is a long but flowing read and will enrich the life of any who chose to pick it up. You can find a free version of this public domain book here: http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/22542
