bookshelves: memoirs, favorites, history, music, politics
Read from November 02 to 25, 2011

A beautiful and engrossing book, elegantly and honestly rendered. Belafonte is a hero, and this book should be required reading for any class on race, politics, activism, the Civil Rights movement, or 20th Century American history. Or: For any human being who wants to understand other human beings with compassion and a sense of justice. Outstanding.
