Recommended to Thorn by: i'd seen krakauer's talk on his "into the wild" book tour; read
Recommended for: people interested in the events on everest 'that season'.
Read in January, 1994

this was a good book. krakauer's take on the events of that time are controversial. it is unfair for anyone who wasn't there to criticize him for not being a hero. not many people really are heroes; we are lucky as a species that there even is such a thing. this book is a good read, though, regardless how one feels about krakauer. he can write, and we can read his work, even if we would never want him as part of an expedition *we* were organizing.
