This book was hard to get into and was all over the place, quite confusing actually. There was no happy feeling you get when good overcomes evil, just emptiness. I'm not sure I like what Cornwell did to Marino's character or to Scarpetta for that matter. It's like you now have a book filled with weak lily-livered characters and there wasn't a single character in the book you could identify with, like and admire. Definitely not one of her best.
