More of a 3.5 than a 4. It was okay. Not my favorite of katie MacAlisters dragon series. Love the fact that you see the other from the books before and see how they are doing. Enjoyed the connection between Ysolde and Baltic. Loved Brom he sounds like such a cool kid. I think it may be because it's been a while since I read the last book and I didn't remember everything that was going on. Constaintine was hilarious, even Kostya was amusing.
There was alot happening with everything from Thala, and Maura, then throw in the First Dragon and it gets to be a bit overwhelming. Katie didn't disappoint with the humour and it was there yet again. Sparks Fly is well written and I think that if I go back and reread the entire Light Dragon Triliogy it might be a better read. Otherwise it just okay.
