I liked this book and so did all the 4th grade girls and moms in the book club. It was about a girl who was obsessed with growing a giant pumpkin for the nearby pumpkin festival. There is added depth to the book because the girl's mother died when she was 5, and the daughter remembers her mother saying that she would have liked to grow a giant pumpkin someday. Also there is a small cast of people around her who are either encouraging and discouraging towards the young girl's obsession and dedication towards pumpkins. A great book to read around Halloween - and I learned a lot about pumpkins!
