I'm accustomed to hearing people call Friedman a Liberal, which he may well be, but this book is a quite balanced look at how the US has fallen behind many other countries in the world and to some extent what it must do to regain a leadership role. Unfortunately, as the authors point out, much of what needs to be done is up to a divided population that is distracted and headed in different directions.

I would say this is one of those thought-provoking books that ought to be part of a larger community discussion.
