The story of a football player who is also into rope bondage and a submissive woman he took in after her former master abused and then abandoned her.

The first time he saw her she caught his attention. Sid hated how Talia’s master abused her but he could not step in. If he could get her away from that animal he knows they could give each other so much pleasure. That day has come and he is not about to let her go now that he has her. He knows she has some healing to do and he is going to be there every step of the way. He already knows what he wants now he just has to claim the woman who has claimed his heart.

She was so used to abuse both mental and physical that she doesn’t know how to handle the kind way Sid treats her. She wants what Sid offers but will she be able to put the past behind her and step into the world that Sid can provide for her? He can lead her to heights that she has never even dreamed of all she has to do is let him take control.

I have to say this is my first book in this genre and I was not disappointed or put off. I did not know what to expect and I must say I thought it might be too intense for me. It was not. Not knowing too much about the true nature of the way these things work I thought it was written rather well. I do think that there were a few things odd about the way the dom and sub relationship were written. I always believed that the roles they took were pretty clear and these seemed a little fuzzy at times. It is possible that there are degrees in all things and this is fiction so I just went with it.

I had a definite connection with Sid and Talia to a lesser degree. They had some serious issues to work out and I enjoyed reading how they did that. Sid truly cared about her and was not the kind of Dom into just power and humiliation. He genuinely wanted her to be happy and receive pleasure. She had her very wimpy moments but they seemed to fit with the backstory of being in an abusive relationship. I also enjoyed the reference to other characters that may or may not have shown up or will appear in past and future stories in the series. Those glimpses always hook me into reading the rest.

The Necessary Roughness titles are going on my to-read list. This has definitely opened a new door for me and I am looking forward to enjoy more of them in the future.

Favorite Quote: Are you imagining yourself in one of those pictures? Were you wishing I’d wrap you up that way? I want to do it, you know.”
