I liked this, though not quite as much as I liked the second book, which spent more time among regular non-Arameri people. I kept hoping Hymn would be more important, but no, it was all about the Arameri and the gods. At least this time there was less about how the Arameri kill puppies and eat babies, because they are the evilest people who ever eviled.

For the story it was, instead of what I wanted it to be, it was good. I was especially pleased to see the results of what happened in The Broken Kingdoms had had consequences, and to see some of those consequences play a part here. It wrapped up the series nicely, though the fact that it took Sieh so long to understand when it was so clear to me early on what was going on with him, Deka and Shahar, as well as Kahl, was kind of annoying.
