really liked it
Read in September, 2008

I was surprised that I enjoyed reading this book. I had put it off for... how many years? The cover (the one with the face floating in the clouds) creeps me out.

Anyway... I'm amazed at Wally Lamb's ability to delve into the mind of a girl as she becomes a woman. I found myself angry with Dolores, sad for her, upset at her decisions, and wanting to reach through the pages and shake her to her senses. At the same time, I found insight into why people make some of the decisions they make.

Erin yay...finally!!! i hope you like it, at least a little bit

Erin This is exactly how I felt. I think Wally Lamb did an excellent job of portraying not only Delores, but her mother and grandmother as well. And how many times did I want to shake her, but then I ended up laughing a few pages later.
