Horrendously bad for what should have been such interesting subject matter! Boring, redundant, boring, boring, boring. There was really no story here, no character development, very little history, and no real pathos. The different perspectives this story was told through were very limited and confusing with jarring switches back and forth. The author has drawn her Thomas Jefferson character as absolutely cardboard and hollow. Sally Hemings is also incredibly one dimensional and void of feeling. Very poorly done altogether. Couldn't wait for it to end!

Gerry Good to know. I thought it would be a good book too, and I have it on my to read list. Guess I won't bother.
