LOVED THIS! I had never read Oedipus Rex but I sort of knew the story line. Ed King is the patricide/incest story told imaginatively in modern times from the '60's to a few years into the future. Interwoven in the story: the Seattle World's Fair, internet search engines, Jewish nursing homes, dog-walking, Citation jets, anagrams, karma, video games, math, WSU, Kirkland, Bellevue, Portland. It's an amazing story full of twists & turns, and although I felt it started slow, by the end I was so immersed in it my life had to be put on hold for a day or so while I finished it. Vibrant characters, beautiful language, strong storytelling.
