This is the sequel to The Camel Club. It takes place immediately after the events of the first book. The new Speaker of the House is assassinated. Then the director of the Library of Congress's Rare Books and Special Collections Division is killed mysteriously. Caleb Shaw works at the Library of Congress. He and the other members of the Camel Club investigate the deaths. They are joined by a very creative con artist, Annabel Conroy, who had just pulled off a con on a casino owner. Their investigation uncovers an espionage ring that puts all of them in great danger.

This was a fun book to read. I thought it was very clever to put the lovely Annabel with the eccentric members of the Camel Club. Baldacci has it set up for her to return in another novel. I can't wait.
