really liked it
bookshelves: fantasy, magical, adventure

The further adventures of Kaylin et co.

Kaylin is sent into the fief of Tiamaris to investigate the presence of 7 bodies of what appears to be the same woman.

It turns out that, contrary to initial appearances, the woman is not mortal and there is increasing consternation within the ranks of the surviving dragons as to exactly who and what she is.

Sadly Nightshade does not figure strongly in this story - but there is a teaser for what I presume will be the next book.

There is some discussion between Sevrin and Kaylin, early on in the book, about their relationship and what he would hope for with her and potentially what he fears from Nightshade.

I'm afraid that I am in the Nightshade camp - although the commentary may well be right.

The introduction of Bellusdeo a a new strong female character was welcome and this was an interesting development for the dragons etc.

already looking forward to cast in peril.
