Hmm, I have mixed feelings about this book.

Some part of me liked it, and some part of me didn't. There were times I was really into the story, and times I read pages and couldn't remember a single thing I read because my attention was gone.

I will, however, say it was beautifully written, which doesn't surprise me as it is a book by the fabulous Kate DiCamillo, but I wonder if children would really, fully understand the depth of this book. I'd almost classify this book as teen literature just because the book does have a deeper meaning that isn't so easily seen.

So I'm left scratching my head a bit... because I can't really say I liked the book but I can't really say I didn't like it. It's sort of in that limbo. I did however love the writing and the heartwarming story. So there you have it
