Jessica Jones: emotionally troubled and semi-successful private investigator, former super-hero / Avenger, and a foul-mouthed, unhappy, struggling soul. Bendis brings us the realistically seamy side of celebrity and the Marvel Universe, with realistic art from Michael Gaydos. "Alias" is so grounded as to be painful, and a truly amazing work that, in many ways, Bendis has never equaled in his super-hero writing career.

I've read this work before (I have the whole series in TPB), but rereading it really demonstrates to me the genius here -- someone wholly relatable to by normal people, yet with enough of the super-hero fantasy in her life to make her both an object of envy and read.

Good stuff. Highly recommended.
