These books where the author manages to make the kids sound real are so entertaining! I can actually hear my nieces and nephews saying/thinking the things Jerry and Rachel say and do. This was charming, even though I was disappointed that this was going to be a dog book when I found out.

Loved it and am surprised I'd never read it, given how much of Eleanor Estes' titles I read as a child.

I just remembered that I liked this sentence and Jen said I had to include it in my review: "... Wally Bullwinkle ... was studying Ginger with a sly and furtive mien."
