This book had been deemed as a classic however I really found it hard to like. I really wanted to enjoy the book but I couldn't wait until i finished it and was thankful that this book only had 183 pages. The story revolves around Tod Hackett, an artist, who moves to Hollywood and all the characters he meets, set in the Depression era. He is in love with his neighbour Faye Greener, who is a wanna be actress and sometime call girl, who has many men vying for her attention. The reason why this story attracted me was because it is meant to be a 'nightmare vision of humanity destroyed by its obsession with film' (J.G Ballard) but I found the book just plain boring, sorry
