I thought the book was great! While we already know the answers to the mysteries (kinda knowing one and come to the conclusion that our assumption's right - Chantelle and that bastard husband of hers!), it was still great to watch the characters come together. I truly felt Laurel's heartbreak and despair, I felt how sad and happy she felt when realizing that the people around Mimosa Grove and Bayou Jean accepted her simply for who she was and what she could do. I thought Trigger deserved what he got - a fitting end to his utter stupidity. Jail would have been too good. And while I was getting really pissed at her father, I think, finally, he understood and was able to accept what Laurel's gift is, and I believe, in that hospital room, he did was he'd promised, and told her about her mother. Definitely a good book, just as Crystal said it was, LOL!

Their connection was definitely intriguing, but I was left wondering... there's mention at one point, near the end (during the rain and potential flood), about the feeling of losing each other "again", yet that feeling was never touched again. I wonder why? While I understand it (Joshua and Chantelle), I still would have liked that subject to come up again.

Regardless, excellent book!
