I had no idea when I picked up this book that the entire thing was the author's complaint letter written to American Airline during a night spend on the floor at O'Hare. And it has very little to do about the airline, travel, or customer service. A better title for this book would have been "Memoir of a Screwed Up New Orlean's Poet". Had a know this was going to be a rambling exploration of the southern psyche I never would have read it right after finishing The Great Santini. Perhaps if I had known what I was in for I would have liked the book better.
