it was amazing

This book is about a secret scientific experiment where two living things were genetically altered. One, a beutiful golden retriever enhanced with a really high IQ. And the other, the Outsider, a terrible, horrifying creature that since its creation has always hated the dog for being beutiful and loved. The two experiments both escape from the lab and the dog narrowly escapes the other creature and meets a lonely man named Travis who takes him back to his house far away from the other creature. Travis is unaware of the dog's plight but eventually the two grow closer together and the author does a really good job of explaining how they grow together and how they communicate even though one of them can't talk. Far away, the monster is still searching for the dog and it's only a matter of time before the two will meet again.
I highly recomend this book to anyone who likes a book with a lot of characters with deep personalities and emotions, that you can see grow and develop throughout the book. If you like a book that immerses you into the world and where you can feel like you actually know the characters then you will love this book. This book is also very suspenseful and very thrilling. It also contains a little bit of gore and violence but it's not overdone at all. This was the only book that hooked me into it so well that I was able to sit down and read through the whole thing in one day. I highly reccomend this book.
