I know it shouldn't matter in a book like this but...
1) A parsec is a unit of distance, not time. This may be forgiveable as the character who makes this mistake (more than once) is non-human.
2) The nearest galaxy to us is 2.5 million light-years distant. So having someone be '100 light years away in a whole different galaxy' is not right. Not even when they later amend it to hundreds of thousands of light years away. Of course, maybe I just have to forgive this with the assumption that the characters concerned are astronomical dimwits :-)
Yes, I'm a pedant; it didn't really detract from my enjoyment of the book, but it did grate at the moment I actually read it!
