bookshelves: novel, post-2001, young-adult, fantasy, ages-9-to-12

Gaiman hits a home run with his Jungle Book-inspired novel that straddles the line between a children's book and young adult work. Those who are younger may have difficulty with some of the dialogue written in dialect, and parents may raise some objections to the grimness and alcohol references. Fans of Gaiman's other novels or R. L. Stine should find enjoyment.
