Harry Bosch's life is in shambles. His house has been condemned following an earthquake, his girlfriend has left him and he's been suspended and forced to see a department psychologist after getting into an altercation with his Lieutenant. While working through his issues, Harry becomes fixated on the decades old unsolved murder of his mother and decides to launch his own investigation. I found the pace of this one to be a bit on the slow side. Harry is dealing with depression and spends a lot of time ruminating on his life and the city of Los Angeles. The investigation seems to take a backseat to the exploration of Harry's head within the story. Download the eBook from the Orion Library.
