The Mephisto Club:

Really good book with a lame, but realistic ending. One of the better books in the series.

The Series:

This entire series is very nice. The writing is clean and precise. The economy of language is extremely welcome for what is arguably a throw away, airport read. Occasional plots are good enough to raise Ms. Gerritsen's writing a step above the previously mentioned class.

Bottom line: If this is your entire literary diet, you will be lacking some much needed nourishment, but as an entertaining diversion to be read in distracting public places, this is your book. I read the first eight books in a week and then gave them away. Do I miss them? No. Will I read the ninth? No, the mania has left be but I don't regret the week I gave to these books.
