This story is like any other not! Is a story unlike any other you have read a young man named Will has just become the apprentice of a Ranger named Halt and he has already deafeted a great enemy called the Kalkara. They're evil beasts that can freeze you with one look until you die. Anyway a Ranger is kind of like a CIA agent, they're stealthy, use long range weapons, and gather intelegane for the kingdom. Things were a little slow after the Kalkara insident so Will went with Gilan (Halts old apprentice) on a diplomatic mission to a country called Celtica. Everything gets weird when they find that all the houses are empty and there is no one in any of the towns. It looked like they left in a rush because most of their belongings were still in place. Then they realized that Wargals (man beasts controled by the lord Monograth) had taken them to build a bridge for him to get his army into the kingdom. This book is really quite great, in the begening there isn't much action but a lot of mystery and suspence. John Flanagan is a great author who really knows his stuff. He also includes much drama in the series as well as some very mysterious charecters that their indetities are yet not fully known. Its a quite a book but like most of the authors books it ends with a cliff hanger and the fates of the charecters are yet undetermined. I recomend this book to almost any age group.
