really liked it
bookshelves: non-fiction

What a total inspiration this woman was. It's about a woman who entered jingle contests in the 50s, and in doing so kept her family afloat, despite a total ne'er-do-well husband and many challenges. She just sucked it up. No despair. I LOVED her.

And I also loved the glimpse into the world of advertising of the 1950s. Maybe it all worked back then, how they did things to attract buyers, but it seems so quaint in light of advertising today.
