I received this book as a gift, after hearing for years that it was a must-read. The book is not the most stirring prose or the most profound thinking I've ever encountered. But the experience of reading these words is calming. It can give perspective during times of despair or joy and bring you back to earth. It will be different every time you open the book because you will be different every time you open the book. It is a treasure of good thoughts, which is what made this a poignant gift from a friend.

Quotes Mrs. Liked

Kahlil Gibran
“You have been told that, even like a chain, you are as weak as your weakest link.
This is but half the truth.
You are also as strong as your strongest link.
To measure you by your smallest deed is to reckon the power of the ocean
by the frailty of its foam.
To judge you by your failures is to cast blame upon the seasons for their inconstancy.”
Kahlil Gibran, The Prophet
