I was surprised to come across this book at the public library. I never realized it was a book to start with, I watched the Nicole Kidman movie. I have to say this is top five in my favorite books I have read this year list.

Ira Levin is a genius, the book is beautifully written, descriptive and yet fast paced. I am yet to come to terms with the theme, subjugation of women. The woman's role is to care for the home and the family, her one and only purpose. I have nothing wrong with women who love housework and enjoy nothing more than keeping home and family happy, I just want to have a choice. If you marry a woman, love her for all that she is...isn't that why you married her in the first place?

Brilliant book, thought provoking and chilling.
