Read in August, 2011

Such an intriguing story. Karen entered a convent when she was seventeen, against the wishes of her parents. During the seven years she stayed, she was treated with such cruelty and disdain by the nuns. This story is about searching -- for God, for one's place in the world, for a haven. It's stayed with me.
