Ugh! A major disappointment and snoozefest! Never thought it would be possible to make the Romanovs boring, but alas... Happy to move on to something else. Boo.

(First Reads Win.)

{Romanovs!! Extremely intrigued by the subject matter. Looking forward to diving right in. Hoping it doesn't disappoint.}

Julia Mukuddem sounds interesting. will keep an eye on your updates ...

Charity Ugh, it's sooooo effing boring!! I don't know how the author manages to make a book about an affair with Tsar Nicholas II sound so dry, but I'm wishing I had skipped this book and read the phone book or something instead. Gah! So disappointing!

Julia Mukuddem grrr, okay, i'll rather give it a skip. rather leave it and read something more exciting - or are you going to push through?

Charity Haven't decided yet, but I'm definitely leaning toward abandoning it. Life is too short for bad books, right?

Julia Mukuddem yes, indeed. i struggled through "the fig eater" recently - i should have just put it down!!

Charity Well, you've convinced me. I'd rather just chuck it than waste any more time...and it would be a huge waste of time. Thanks!

Julia Mukuddem yes, i always try to persevere, but if it's not doing it for you, yes - huge waste of time yes. :)

Julia Mukuddem i actually said to my husband this morning that i'm going to start doing something about this. i'm going to go to a bookshop and sit there and read the first few pages before i read a book ... to make sure it's working for me ... :)

Charity I think that's smart, Julia! A lot of bad books would be avoided and a lot of money would be saved! Brilliant!!

Julia Mukuddem he-he - let's try it ... :)
