Lennie's sister has unexpectedly died, leaving a whole in Lennie's life. The two were very close and Lennie isn't sure what life means without her sister. At the same time, a new boy, Joe, moves to town and is everything that Lennie cannot be, happy, funny, full of life. Lennie finds herself caught between her feelings for the vivacious Joe, and her sister's boyfriend Toby, who is the only other person who really understands what she is going through.

This is an amazing book about loss and grief. It was almost palpable, you cannot help but grieve along with Lennie. I couldn't believe how much I empathized with Lennie, even when she was making all the wrong choices.
