The best book in the series! If you only have time to read one, make it this one - it follows characters somewhat tangential to the first novel, so as long as the reader has a base knowledge of traditional Faerie lore it can stand alone. Unlike most contemporary paranormal romance titles this one deals with such weighty issues as rape and addiction while not coming off as a "problem novel." Dark and edgy, this will probably be better received by fans of Neil Gaiman and Holly Black than of Stefanie Meyer and her ilk. (Some Twilight fans will enjoy the series as a whole, but will likely not be drawn to this title independently).
