Marquez's autobiography is in some ways better than his fiction (which I love). If you read this, you see where all of his places and people come from. It's chock full of colorful, larger-than-life characters, shaggy dog stories, and early 20th century South America. This book is a magnificent piece of writing that makes me want to write my own autobio. Totally enjoyable.
