First of all, I like the Myron Bolitar series. Promise me is a return to the series after 6 years away and is a good addition. Background: After a short career in professional basketball ended by an injury, Myron becomes a sports representative. He feels a great responsibility towards his clients and when, occassionaly, they get in trouble, Myron feels obligated to help them ut. Myron is a reluctant hero. He is not violent by nature, but he can handle himself in a scrap.

Promise Me is the result of a promise Myron extracts from two teenage girls one evening when he overhears them talking about riding home with someone they know to be under the influence. Myron does what most responsible adults would do, he makes them promise to call him, no matter the time, if they are in trouble. One of them does... The subsequent story is a lot more than Myron bargained for.
