bookshelves: ya, sci-fi, not-graphic, mystery

Kyle Straker and three others volunteer to be hypnotized at the local talent show. When they emerge from their trances, everything has changed. More precisely, everyone has changed, and that changes everything. His family not only begins acting differently, they treat Kyle as if he's an unwanted annoyance for not changing with them. He and the three others quickly realize they are in danger and must fight for their lives if they want to remain who they are and not be transformed along with the freaky, mindless mass that is now everyone else.

Once you jump into this quick, gripping read you'll want to keep going, because the ending is one most won't see coming. It's worth reading just to discover the premise, which is interesting and fun to ponder.
