The second book in the Blackwell's series, I enjoyed the further introduction of supporting characters and the development of several others. The mystery in this one isn't as strong as the mystery in the first one, but was still engaging. A fun read.

I did have a couple of small peeves with the character, growing from the first book. First, her familiar is suspicious and despite the fact that she is supposed to be wounded and not trusting, she never follows up on this. Second, two of the characters in this story are supposed to be brothers. but they don't have the same last name and no one seems to notice. Weird. But not weird enough to make me dislike the book.
