it was amazing

What a great book! I really enjoyed this mystery about a woman who risks everything to finally do the right thing. This is a wonderfully intimate portrayal of family relationships and the love a mother has for her daughter. I really liked the characters in this book-flaws and all. This is the first Diane Chamberlain book I have read and I was completely blown away. I absolutely could not put this book down. The characters were so well developed and there was so much emotion in the story.

The story is told from the point of view of a scared, naive sixteen-year old girl who is transformed, literally overnight, into a single mother with adult responsibilities. She spends thirty years looking over her shoulder and hiding a secret that will affect everyone with whom she comes in contact, especially her beloved daughter.
