Beckett the young panda finds himself hungry for bamboo. So he starts off on a walk to look for some. On the way, he unknowingly gathers many more pandas who also want to find bamboo. All of the young pandas follow Beckett even as he climbs a tree. This causes the tree to begin to shake and "shimmy" and bounced out all of those pandas. Beckett himself lands right where he wants to be: in a field of sweet bamboo.

The story is cute enough. I usually love stories-rhyme, but this one just didn't seem right. When I read it out loud to myself, the rhymes didn't quite work with each other. Also, it appears the author may have been trying to write a counting book, but there's no linear accumulation. There are groups of different numbers of pandas that seem to go in order until the 4th group. It's so confusing.
