An excellent conclusion to the series, although the ending feels a bit rushed. I like the youthful voice of this volume's female narrator, Elvira Royston, who manages to be brave and funny as her world and her own long-held assumptions come crashing down around her. And Carmichael (now head of the Watch) is as complicated and delightful as ever. My only real complaint is that there are no more books in this series.
