The Quest: Energy, Security, and the Remaking of the Modern World
by Daniel Yergin
by Daniel Yergin
Yergin, author of the magisterial The Prize attempts to go for the past, present, and future of the entirety of energy in a single volume. Yergin's combination or trend analysis and personal narratives worked for oil, but there is just too much material for a single volume to cover. It's a good introduction to energy, and his discussion of China merits attention, but for future projections and current paradoxes "The Bottomless Well" does this job.
