Paige Long is the business manager for her family's coffee shop. Devoting most of her life to work and not having a social or love life. She takes a chance with Carter, a sexy fire fighter. She has to decide if she can let go of the past and try a relationship again.

When she was younger Paige was in an abusive relationship with a Dom. Leaving the lifestyle behind, Paige threw herself into work, but always needed that calming effect from submission that she used to have. Being ignorant to the lifestyle and ultimately leaving behind her abusive Dom, Paige is not one to take chances again. She does however, give Carter a chance. Through his actions he demonstrates that he cares for her and that he is a worthy Dom that pushes her past her limits and starts to feel deeply for her.

Unfortunately, her ex Rick shows up again. This guy is such a jerk and a looser. Paige is finally able to stand up to him and receive closure. But because Carter shows up and tries to protect Paige, she gets mad. Ultimately she decides that Carter will never be like Rick and that they can really give it a go and see if a relationship will work. I have enjoyed this series so far and I look forward to reading Ian's book and discovering more about Blue Eyes. I recommend this short erotic romance story as well as book one, Double Shot, Sadie's story.
