What a great book about a little known (mainly because they were Russian) Arctic survival story. Of all the men on the ill-fated Saint Anna, two survived. I read this in a single chilly afternoon, made all the more cold by the story itself. Nicely written, quick pace. Reads like a thriller.

"Anyone who has been in a position to observe Nature's powers feels intimidated by his own perceptions...." (pg77)
